Empowering The Nepali Democracy Movement

“Empowering the Nepali Democracy Movement” is a project that aim to empower Nepali civil society activists through education, organisational capacity-building and training in civic mobilisation, strategic communication and planning. The project implemented in Biratnagar and Janakpur in Nepal has helped to build a coherent network of human rights defenders, young professionals and democracy activists and instil a culture of nonviolence by demonstrating the power of nonviolent activism and teaching methods to prevent violence during acts of mobilisation. The project has worked with 100’s of civil society activists working on issues of democracy, transparency, good governance, human rights, accountability. The participants attended a course with experienced trainers in the field of strategic nonviolence and movement building.
